All-electric Firefly

-The city’s on-street Parking Enforcement Vehicle is All Electric – It’s called the Firefly. We are proud to be one of the first localities in Virginia to deploy this all electric parking enforcement vehicle.

-The City of Roanoke has a Clean and Green Program providing information on “What you can do,” Tax Incentives, Recycling, and more.

-Clean and Green for City Streets – Anti-Litter Campaign: Cigarette butts are a major nuisance as litter in the streets, in parking facilities, and also for our storm sewers and waterways.  The city is launching an awareness campaign to cause people to think twice before littering.   New street signage using phrases such as “No Ifs and or Butts –  Don’t Litter” will be posted in visible places around the city.

Here is a listing of organizations in the Roanoke Valley supporting green initiatives.
